Good writing follows the "four Cs". It's:

• clear
• concise
• consistent
• coherent

Clear writing gets straight to the point. It's active and direct. You must organize your thoughts to write clearly. If you're unsure what your message is and to whom it's directed, you'll have trouble writing clearly.

Concise writing uses only the words required to tell your story. Drop unnecessary adjectives, pare all padding, and just get the job done.

Consistent writing maintains the same style and tone. Decide what's appropriate for your content (chatty? friendly? serious? academic?) and who you're writing for (kids? adults? fellow hobbyists? professionals?) and stick to it.

Coherent writing is planned and organized. It's logical and progresses in an orderly fashion, deliberately leading the reader to a satisfying conclusion.
