CopyCleaners Tips 3
The Importance of Proofreading
When you finish writing something, you should always have
someone else proofread it for you. You already know the material
so you'll tend to skip over mistakes, and since you wrote it
you'll understand things that may not be clear to others.
If you don't have anyone to proofread for you, at least set
the material aside for a few hours, or better yet, overnight, so
you come back to it fresh. I can guarantee that you'll
catch some mistakes, or realize that what seemed clear
before doesn't make sense on second reading.

Try to put yourself in the audience's shoes. Are you really
getting your points across clearly? |

Read the material aloud to catch missing words
or awkward phrasing. |
